《阿嗨大冒险》描述一位天真的小男孩「阿嗨」，从小由一只会说话的鲸鱼波比抚养长大，心里最大的梦想就是成为海上探险家。当他遇到疯狂的「寇斯船长」后，激发了体内的冒险 DNA，并把寇斯船长当成崇拜的偶像。阿嗨希望能跟着寇斯船长到处冒险，船长口中的神奇「糖果岛」，更成为阿嗨全心向往的冒险目的地。一次又一次困难重重却充满乐趣的奇幻旅程，就此展开。
杰克是一个被会说话的鲸鱼养大的普通男孩。他们俩在Stormalong港口过着牧歌般的生活，但这一切却因为两人拯救一个名叫Capn Knuckles的海盗而改变。Capn Knuckles告诉他们远方有个名叫糖果岛的地方，那里遍地是糖果。憧憬成为冒险者的杰克和鲸鱼，为了寻找糖果岛这一奇幻乐园，跟随Capn Knuckles面对一个接一个的挑战。
